Ball pythons are a terrestrial species that can get up to 4-5ft native to Central and western Africa. Due to their size, they won’t need a huge enclosure like others but still a decent size. Ball pythons can live 30+ years making them a big commitment pet. Though they can be shy as babies and ball up, with proper handling, ball pythons make great pets for first time snake owners due to their calm and docile nature.
