Asian Water Monitor are a terrestrial semi-aquatic species that can get 4-7’ making them one of the largest lizards in the world. They are native to South and Southeast Asia. Due to their size and active nature they will need a large enclosure. Asian water monitors can live 10-20+ years making them a big commitment pet. These monitors are for the experienced keeper as they do require training to become docile and also be cautious of their feeding responses. When properly raised, they can become incredibly affectionate, interactive companions, though they require a significant investment of time, patience, and effort to reach that point.
