Golden greek tortoises are a land species that can get 7-9” native to the Middle East. They will need a large enclosure due to their size and active nature. Golden greeks can live 50-100+ years making them a big commitment pet. Just like any turtle or tortoise, they are not big fans of being picked up and are actually very scared of heights. Frequent handling, loud noises, or sudden environmental changes can cause stress and be easily frightened. These tortoises are known for being inquisitive, spunky, and amiable once they get to know their keepers. They are highly responsive and will eagerly approach you for food.
