Argentine black & white tegus are a terrestrial species that can get 3-5’ (Females being smaller) native to Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Due to their size and active nature they will need a large enclosure. Argentine black & white tegus can live 15-20+ years making them a big commitment pet. These tegus are for the experienced keeper as they do require training to become docile and also be cautious of their feeding responses. When properly raised, they can become incredibly affectionate, interactive companions, though they require a significant investment of time, patience, and effort to reach that point.
