Western Hognose snakes are a smaller terrestrial burrowing snake native to North America. Their sizes will vary depending on the gender of the snake. Adult females can get up to 2-3ft while males are roughly 1-2ft. These snakes don't require too large of an enclosure like other snakes. Western hognoses can live up to 15-20+ years making them a big commitment pet. Though they can be shy, dramatic, and tend to use “bluffing” behavior when nervous, these snakes make great pets for first time snake owners due to their calm and docile nature once properly handled and worked with.
