Bull snakes are a terrestrial species as well as excellent burrowers native to North America. These snakes can get up to 4-6ft or more. Due to their size these snakes will require a large enclosure. Bull snakes can live up to 20-30+ years making them a big commitment pet. These snakes are best suited for people who have had some experience keeping similar animals due to their temperament. While they can become docile and calm with consistent, gentle handling. They can often be defensive, skittish, and feisty. When they are in distress they are known for their loud and dramatic display which can be alarming to some handlers but they are more known as “Bluffing” than being bitey. Consistent handling is key to help them overcome this behavior.
